Prospective Students

If you are interested in joining the lab, please send me an email. I am currently recruiting postdocs, graduate students (PhD students and thesis masters students), non-thesis masters, and undergraduates. Provide information on the kinds of questions you are interested in and any relevant background experience you have. Please also include a resume/CV.

Graduate students

PhD and Thesis Masters

I am seeking PhD students and thesis masters students to start in Spring 2018 or Fall 2018. Funding for PhD students is available from a number of sources including grants (Research Assistantships, Board of Regents Graduate Research Fellowships) and departmental Teaching Assistantships. Unfortunately, I do not have funding for thesis masters students at this time, although they may still join the lab if on an external fellowship or are willing to pay tuition. I strongly encourage applications from students from groups traditionally under-represented in the sciences.

The deadline for applications is Oct 1 2017 for Spring 2018 and Jan 15 2018 for Fall 2018 matriculation. See the department webpage for more info on applying. Please email me well ahead of time outlining your interests and experience.

Non-Thesis Masters

I am also recruiting students interested in Tulane’s 1-year course-based Masters programs (+1 or 4+1 programs). These students take 1 year of course work and are paired up with a lab to do independent study research over the year. Students must pay tuition in these programs. Application deadline is May 1, 2018.

Undergraduate opportunities

I am recruiting undergraduates who are interested in doing research through independent study. I am also seeking undergraduates interested in assisting with research. I currently have work-study lab assistant opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities available.

Postdoctoral Researchers

Prospective postdocs are encouraged to apply for extramural funding and fellowship awards with my guidance. Please contact me several months in advance of deadlines to discuss project ideas.

I look forward to hearing from you!
